About Me

As a child, I was considered timid and shy.  These characteristics carried over into adulthood, but were described more as being reserved and observant.

I have always been known to be a caretaker and peacemaker, and have always been willing to help people out whenever possible.

I have worked with several agencies to help provide people with disabilities innovative services and opportunities to achieve personal success.

After sustaining injuries from an accident, I have had to draw from my experience and use adaptations I implemented with my clients on himself.

Working with these individuals I have witnessed the injustices and prejudices people with disabilities experience on a daily basis.  Now, I experience it firsthand.

This unforeseen event has also opened my eyes to other areas where “we the people” are losing our rights and privileges.

The characteristics of being reserved and observant have served me well in the past.  However, I have made the commitment to step out of my comfort zone and reveal all I have observed and continue to observe on a daily basis, pertaining to this topic and many more.

  1. Hi Joe, it’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m so glad I found your blog. We have a couple of things in common like I’m an introvert, peacemaker, previous advocate now I’m an Abilities Crusader. I have a disability that I got in my late forties so I understand the prejudices and injustice that people with disabilities face on a day to day basis. I look forward to reading your posts. Steph
